Our Programs

CEDS

The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) leverages public-private partnerships to establish a plan that builds regional capacity.

Regional Investment Planning

Economic Opportunity Response Teams take a proactive approach to regional investment. Services are specific to each region, and engage private and public investors. The team creates a roadmap, overseen by EMDC, that grows second-stage businesses, attracts new businesses, and addresses global issues that impact climate resiliency.

Community Planning

Our staff supports you as you plan for your future through comprehensive plans, ordinances, technical assistance and regional projects. Learn more.

Community Resilience

EMDC works with communities to identify and secure funding and other resources to help reduce emissions and prepare for the impacts of extreme weather.

Infrastructure Planning

We promote multi-jurisdictional Broadband initiatives, rural transportation plans, and multi-modal projects that help Eastern Maine stay connected.

CDBG

Community Development Block Grants help local governments implement programs that benefit low income areas by creating affordable housing, providing services, and creating jobs.

Brownfields

Though a partnership with the EPA, we help communities reutilize properties that have a potential presence of hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants.

Grants Management

We partner with the Katahdin Higher Education Center to host Grants Conferences statewide. These day-long trainings bring in federal, state, local and foundation funding partners to share insights and funding opportunities. We also work one-on-one with you to develop strategies, meet requirements, and manage your project through the life of the grant.
