EMDC Names CFO and Director of Lending & Investments to Revitalize Financial Management Systems and Lending Program
Posted on November 13, 2018 | Press ReleasesEastern Maine – Eastern Maine Development Corporation (EMDC) is pleased to announce that Russell Begin will join the organization as Chief Financial Officer on November 19th. The non-profit has also promoted Joshua McIntyre to Director of Lending & Investments. The pair will form the core of EMDC’s talented financial team and drive financial management.
Prior to joining Eastern Maine Development Corporation, Russell Begin’s career has been a balance of working with major industries such as paper and trucking, as well as social service organizations including his most recent position as Chief Financial Officer at Maine Primary Care Association. For over 20 years, Mr. Begin has led accounting teams and instituted programs and procedures that improved the overall performance of the organizations he works for.
Russell is a graduate of Thomas College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, and a graduate of the University of Memphis, with a Master’s of Business Administration degree. His strong work ethic, coupled with his exemplary skills and experience, will round out EMDC’s financial team.
As Director of Lending & Investments, Joshua McIntyre will lead EMDC’s lending department by managing the organization’s strong partnerships and overseeing the dedicated lending team. This new role will build upon Mr. McIntyre’s previous role at EMDC, where he worked with municipal leaders and business executives to facilitate large-scale business development projects. Josh will also continue his work as liaison with Acadia Capital Management, an affiliate Community Development Entity of the organization.
Mr. McIntyre is a graduate of Boston College, with a Bachelor of Arts and Master’s of Business Administration degrees. Prior to his time at EMDC, Josh worked with small businesses as a Loan Portfolio Manager at UCEDC in Cranford, New Jersey where he managed a portfolio of direct and SBA loans. He has financial experience in Boston and New York, and has also worked in Washington DC for the US Senate Committee on Small Business. His knowledge of EMDC, as well as his background in lending and financial management are the perfect fit to lead the lending department.
